Join us for a Chicago Zoom Conversation on the Nursing Initiative with Dr. Todd Reinhart, Saint Mary’s Dean of Sciences and Health Professions in Minneapolis and the John C. Parmer School of Sciences in Winona.

In response to the needs of the healthcare industry and building upon new and successful healthcare programs, Saint Mary’s is developing a Collaborative Suite of Nursing Programs. We hope to expand on the successes of our recently established 3+2 Physician Assistant Studies program in collaboration with Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. In addition to launching a four-year, pre-licensure B.S. in Nursing program (which will be housed in the Adducci Science Center on the Winona Campus), Saint Mary’s will launch a Doctor of Nursing Practice program (blended online and residential), and will expand healthcare management program offerings for nurses.

Dr. Reinhart previously served multiple roles at the University of Pittsburgh, including professor of infectious diseases and microbiology, director of the Graduate School of Public Health Center for Lymphatic Immunobiology, and associate dean for faculty affairs.

Prior to earning his Doctor of Science degree in cancer biology from Harvard University’s School of Public Health, Dr. Reinhart received his bachelor’s degree from Hamline University. Additionally, he served as a research associate and conducted postdoctoral work at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Highlights of his 20-year career in education include doubling master’s student enrollment, and establishing and leading a research program on HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases that achieved more than $7 million in federal funding.

Dr. Reinhart joined Saint Mary’s in 2015 with the charge to advance the future of science and health professions at Saint Mary’s. The latest initiative in realizing this vision is a new Collaborative Nursing Suite to respond to the future healthcare needs in our region.
