Why support Cardinal men's soccer?
This fall we were able to end a conference winless drought that had extended since 2019 with a 1-0 victory over Concordia College on 9/30/23. The wins didn't stop there either, as we defeated Gustavus Adolphus on the road in our next match earning the program its first victory over a ranked opponent in history. We were able to secure draws against Bethel, Hamline and St. Scholastica as well, which earned us a 7th place finish - one spot outside the playoff qualifiers.
We also had two players receive post-season honors for the first time in recent memory, with Senior Captains Jack Hurley and Daniel Sessler earning All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades. Additionally, these two earned Academic All-District honors along with Senior Aidan Adamek. I am incredibly proud of the fact that our student-athletes have demonstrated excellence both on and off the field - as it is a great representation of the strong work ethic that our team embodies and has become a core part of our identity.
Our athletes are involved in a number of different areas on campus, ranging from peer mentor to First Generation Initiative cohort members. We are proud of the diversity of our program, and that we are representative of Saint Mary's overall commitment to making a college experience accessible and attainable to all.
While our accomplishments are noteworthy, I am driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a vision to establish Saint Mary's Men's Soccer as a perennial contender in our conference and region. Achieving this ambitious goal requires your support. I am reaching out to humbly request your contribution to the Cardinal Excellence Fund for men's soccer. Your donation will play a pivotal role in enhancing our travel experience, meeting game day nutrition needs, and training/match gear for the team.
