Why support Cardinal softball?
Over the past year, our softball program’s student-athletes have not only shone on the field but have also showcased exceptional academic prowess. With an impressive team GPA of 3.55, we take pride in having garnered 18 Academic All-Americans. Beyond the playing field, our athletes have been actively engaged in a spectrum of campus activities, including roles in Student Senate, Admissions Ambassadors, Student Athletic Advisory Committees, and various academic clubs. Notably, some of our players have assumed leadership positions, exemplified by one being elected as the president of a student-run club.
Our team has expanded to a roster of 38 players, and we are pleased to announce that, in our second year, we successfully clinched a spot in the MIAC playoffs — a noteworthy achievement considering we narrowly missed out in our inaugural year. Markedly, victories against two nationally ranked teams capped off the season, contributing to a top-10 ranking in nearly every statistical category in the history of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
The vibrant culture of team spirit, pride, and dedication we set out to foster is flourishing. The unanimous rating of team chemistry as a perfect “10 out of 10” underscores the joy the players derive from each other’s company. As we look forward, we seek your continued support. Our aim is to raise funds for our spring trip, a necessity given the escalating costs of travel, gas, hotels, and meals. The spring trip remains pivotal, allowing us to adhere to a full schedule while accommodating our unpredictable weather and avoiding disruptions to classes.
