“Come back, give back” philanthropy has long been a reunion tradition for those returning to campus to celebrate their time at St. Mary’s. As we remember the good times we had, the laughs we shared, the lasting friendships we forged, and the first-rate education we obtained, it’s time for us to pay it forward to assist new Saint Mary’s students.
As we celebrate 50 years as alumni, the class of 1974 Reunion Committee has chosen $50 for 50 as the theme for our 50th Reunion fundraiser. We would like to support the university’s First Generation Initiative program. This program was established in 2009 to ensure academic success for first-generation SMU students and for students who are the first in their family to attend a post-secondary institution. Since we all received some type of support from SMU—whether financial aid, academic advice, or personal counseling—it’s fitting that we lend a hand to students who are experiencing many of the same memorable SMU experiences that shaped our lives.
Your gift of $50 (or $500, $5,000, or other commemorative amount) to either the First Generation Initiative program or any project, program, fund, or scholarship at Saint Mary's will be tallied and the total gift amount will be announced at the reunion.
Donating couldn’t be easier: Use the form below to submit your gift to Saint Mary's. Simply choose a preset amount or choose a custom amount by selecting "Other" and typing in the amount you wish to submit. Additional options to customize and personalize your gift will follow. Thank you for your support!
