Join alumni and friends as we create one-of-a-kind artwork using oil pastels. Learn how to play with color, blending, and design, along with tips and tools to begin or continue your journey with oil pastels. 

Registration/Cost:

Option #1:
Entire series of classes, includes 5, 75 minute sessions, complete art supply kit (14 oil pastels, 7 pieces of art paper, white paint pen, Ebony pencil, and masking tape inside a pencil case) necessary to complete the projects mailed to you for $25

Option #2:
Entire series of classes, includes 5, 75 minute sessions, use your own art supplies. Enjoy the series for $10.

Supply list:
25 piece pentel oil pastel set
Prismacolor Ebony Graphite Drawing Pencil 2-count
Roll of Masking Tape or Painter’s tape
White Paint Pen
8 pieces of 5.5 x 8.5- 6 x 9in mixed media medium tooth paper 98-100# (or larger that can be cut)

Optional:
4 pieces of white 110# cardstock (could just continue use mixed media)
Gel pens

For students who participated in the pastels class in the fall, there are a couple of additional supplies. We will be using a white paint pen, a pink oil pastel, and a variety of paper including heavy white cardstock and some multi-purpose art paper with more tooth, you can use whatever you have on hand.

As always, all classes would be recorded so you can refer back to them. 

Please note:  you can join this class after the first session, however the cost remains the same.

Instructor: Lisa Douglas

Douglas has been a valued member of the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts faculty since 2017. She has taught visual arts for Creative Aging programs in Winona and Rushford, MN, general music with Preschool-6th grade students of Riverway Learning Community, private piano lessons and visual arts including stained glass inspired art, weaving, drawing, oil pastel programs.
