June 27, 2023 Update:

The COMMITTEE wants to sincerely THANK YOU for your generous Donations!!! Not only did we attain the GOAL of “60 for the 60th” , we exceeded it and surpassed our GOAL….and the final tally was $61,235!!!!!

BUT WAIT….THERE’S MORE!!!!

Thanks to a very generous Planned Bequest Gift document, submitted in June, an anonymous member of our class donated $1,000,000, to raise our total to $1,061,235!!!

We…THE COMMITTEE….AS WELL AS SAINT MARY’S…..want to express our SINCERE THANKS for your generosity!!!

THANK YOU!!!!

Original Post:

Can you remember sitting in the Auditorium, up on Third Floor Saint Mary’s Hall, way back in August/September of 1959, for our “ORIENTATION”? We were told to “look to your right, and then look to your left, because 2 of the 3 of you will not make it to graduation”!!!  The fact that only 33% of our incoming class of 351 was forecasted to graduate...was quite startling!!!However, it looks like our CLASS OF ’63 actually had a Graduation Rate of 57%!!!

Our Class was unique from the very start, as we formed our bonds with each other and to Saint Mary’s. We continued those close relationships throughout the rest of our lives…and still remain as a unique and closely-knit class. THE SMC CLASS OF 1963!!!!!

As with past Reunion’s, we are setting a philanthropic goal for our class. In honor of our 60th, our goal is to raise $60,000 by June 20th, 2023. A special THANK YOU to those who have made a gift to Saint Mary’s since June 1 of 2022. Because of you, as of April 24, 2023, we have already raised $43,895 towards our goal!

While any gift (including pledges and bequest gifts) to any Saint Mary’s Fund or scholarship from a member of our class will count towards our goal, we are campaigning this year for two areas in particular: The Saint Mary’s Fund, and The First Generation Initiative (FGI)

We hope we can count on you to both donate and attend!

Make a Gift

Use the form below to submit your Class gift.  Simply choose a preset amount, or choose a custom amount by selecting "Other" and typing in the amount you wish to submit. Additional payment options will then follow.  You can make a simple, one-time gift to the Saint Mary's Fund; or learn about other gift options -- that all still count towards your class gift total -- and that may be more in line with your charitable giving preferences:

  • In addition to the primary annual fund, The Saint Mary's Fund, there are a number of initiatives to support at Saint Mary's.
  • A Pledge is a gift that can be made today, but you can schedule payments over a time period of up to 5 years. The total Pledge counts towards goal.
  • A Recurring gift is where you can set up an ongoing payment schedule that is convenient for you. Payments are automatically deducted going forward, or until you contact the Saint Mary's Advancement Office to make a change.
  • For those 70 years or older, you may be among those who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) on an annual basis. You can donate your RMD to Saint Mary's (a certified 501 C 3), collecting both the charitable tax deduction and reducing your taxable income.
  • If you have Saint Mary's in your estate plans, or are thinking of doing so, Planned or Bequest gifts also count towards Reunion and Class Gift goals. Contact our Planned Gift Officer for further details about this option.
  • You can find all the ways to make a gift on the Saint Mary's Ways To Give web page.

Thank you for supporting your alma mater and future generations of alumni like you!
