Class of 1977 45th Reunion Giving Opportunity: Aquinas Hall

Is the Aquinas Hall that we knew Aquinas Hall any longer? No! What was once the Adducci Science Center’s Hoffman and Brother Charles Halls has been rejuvenated and is now the (improved) Aquinas Hall. The facility is dedicated to programs such as business, psychology and nursing. See the links below for some of the ways Saint Mary's has brought this old structure to new life. 

A large portion of renovations to Aquinas Hall were made possible by two generous gifts, one from the Melrose Family Foundation, an another from an anonymous donor who pledged to match up to $5 million in additional support if Saint Mary's could raise the funds. The university is just over half way to that goal right now, so there are still plenty of matching gift dollars available to those who make a gift in support of Aquinas Hall today. Our gifts to this facility will have double the impact!

The Reunion Team is so excited, we plan to support this beautiful facility and urge you to also. In honor of our 45th Reunion, we are asking you to donate in "45"-related amounts, from  $45 or $450 to $4,500 or more. Our gifts to Aquinas Hall will help cover some of the additional renovation expenses, as well as support the programs, facilities and equipment the building provides for Saint Mary's Students. As you think about the SMU relationships we enjoy, and the gifts we have been given, we hope you will consider investing in this opportunity.

Raised So Far:

As of June 20, 2022, the Class of 1977 has raised $7,250 towards Aquinas Hall for the Reunion 2022 Fundraiser. When including all gifts to Saint Mary's this year (not just Aquinas Hall), the Class of 1977 fundraising total jumps to $134,335.73 for the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you Class of 1977!

Make a Gift

Use the form below to submit your Class gift.  Simply choose a preset amount, or choose a custom amount by selecting "Other" and typing in the amount you wish to submit. Additional payment options will then follow.  You can make a simple, one-time gift to the Saint Mary's Fund; or learn about other gift options -- that all still count towards your class gift total -- and that may be more in line with your charitable giving preferences:

• In addition to the primary annual fund, The Saint Mary's Fund, there are a number of initiatives to support at Saint Mary's. 
• A Pledge is a gift that can be made today, but you can schedule payments over a time period of up to 5 years. The total Pledge counts towards goal.
• A Recurring gift is where you can set up an ongoing payment schedule that is convenient for you. Payments are automatically deducted going forward, or until you contact the Saint Mary's Advancement Office to make a change. 
• For those 70 years or older, you may be among those who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) on an annual basis. You can donate your RMD to Saint Mary's (a certified 501 C 3), collecting both the charitable tax deduction and reducing your taxable income. 
• If you have Saint Mary's in your estate plans, or are thinking of doing so, Planned or Bequest gifts also count towards Reunion and Class Gift goals. Contact our Planned Gift Officer for further details about this option.
