Class of 1972 - 50th Reunion Class Gift

Class of 1972 Schedule

A Letter from your Class of 1972 Planning Committee...

Greetings Saint Mary’s Class of ’72 classmates!

Many of you have already registered to attend our 50th REUNION to be held in Winona on June 24-26. If you are not registered and plan to attend, visit the Saint Mary’s event website. And please encourage other members of our class to attend. Whether or not you plan to attend the reunion, we are writing to request that you make a financial donation to the school TODAY.

It has been a long-time since May 7, 1972, the date many of us walked across the stage in the fieldhouse to receive our degrees, and then drove away from the Terrace Heights campus. It is where Brother Charles, “General” Clark,  Max, Brother Finbar, Father Fabian, and others helped us develop an appreciation for the rigorous, Lasallian-based education we received.  It was where, both in and out of the classroom, cherished memories and lasting friendships were nurtured. It was also the place where we recognized how the support and encouragement we received from teachers, family, friends, and alumni helped us to reach our goals. Our 50th anniversary is the perfect opportunity to give a little something back to the school.

Many of us were able to attend Saint Mary’s because of the financial assistance we received from the school. The school was able to provide that assistance because of the generous support it received from its alums. Today many students are also dependent on the financial assistance they get from the school, just as many of us were. Let’s help out the current and future students of Saint Mary’s. NOW is the time! PLEASE CONTRIBUTE!

We suggest that as a special 50th Anniversary Gift, each and every member of the Class of ’72, including those who have made a recent donation, make a meaningful donation of at least $197.20. And please check with your employer as it might sponsor a matching gift program. You can make a contribution by scrolling down and using the online form below. And, of course, you can designate a specific use for your donation or choose to honor an individual by making the gift in his or her name. If you are curious about what your options may be, you can take a look at key Saint Mary's Initiatives, or Scholarships with the greatest need

THANKS! We hope to see you in Winona in June. Let’s all Celebrate the Class of ’72 in ’22!

All the best,

Your Class of 1972 Reunion Committee:  Bill Wold, Dale Wagner, Ken Pellegrini, Vince Walker, John Phelan and Bob Cern

50th Reunion Fundraising Total

Make a Gift

Use the form below to submit your Class gift.  Simply choose a preset amount, or choose a custom amount by selecting "Other" and typing in the amount you wish to submit. Additional payment options will then follow.  You can make a simple, one-time gift to the Saint Mary's Fund; or learn about other gift options -- that all still count towards your class gift total -- and that may be more in line with your charitable giving preferences:

  • In addition to the primary annual fund, The Saint Mary's Fund, there are a number of initiatives to support at Saint Mary's.
  • A Pledge is a gift that can be made today, but you can schedule payments over a time period of up to 5 years. The total Pledge counts towards goal.
  • A Recurring gift is where you can set up an ongoing payment schedule that is convenient for you. Payments are automatically deducted going forward, or until you contact the Saint Mary's Advancement Office to make a change.
  • For those 70 years or older, you may be among those who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) on an annual basis. You can donate your RMD to Saint Mary's (a certified 501 C 3), collecting both the charitable tax deduction and reducing your taxable income.
  • If you have Saint Mary's in your estate plans, or are thinking of doing so, Planned or Bequest gifts also count towards Reunion and Class Gift goals. Contact our Planned Gift Officer for further details about this option.
  • You can find all the ways to make a gift on the Saint Mary's Ways To Give web page.

Thank you for supporting your alma mater and future generations of alumni like you!
